The Information Technology Authority’s (ITA) in association with the Ministry of Social Development launched the official online donations portal.
This official donations portal approved and supported by the Ministry of Social Development of Oman makes it possible for donors to contribute to charitable organizations.
This online donations portal is a one-stop-shop assisting the collecting charity funds for the less privileged people and the people with special needs. The portal makes it easy for Omani citizens and residents to donate with a single click from anywhere and at their suitable time without a need to travel to any of the charity organisations. This portal supports humanitarian efforts for charity by eliminating the donor’s problems of time and distance using technology.
Online Donations Portal has been developed with the vision to promote charity for valuable social causes in the Sultanate of Oman.

Jury Evaluation The online donations portal is a unique website and we could say it is the only portal in the Arab World specialized in collecting donations through the internet.
The site’s major goal is to help the less privileged and the people with special needs in Oman by giving its visitors all the information about the charity organizations in Sultanate of Oman .

Description of the product/ project

ICT for Illiteracy eradication (ICT4IE) aims to utilize advanced ICT to convert learning content of illiteracy classes into a simple, interactive computer-based tutorial that teaches basic reading and writing skills to illiterates, with special focus on women who present more than 70% of illiterates in Egypt, specially in rural and remote areas where the culture mainly prevent women from leaving home for classes.
It is designed in a way that learning activities are embedded into familiar contexts of every day life and are dramatized using sound and music effects. The project produced 3 multimedia CDs (2 for IE course, 1crash course to orient students to schooling) The e-content emphasis on progressive topics such as health, education, political rights, environment, and family care.
Hence, trainees' retention and understanding are improved and their motivation and interest are maintained since more satisfaction is derived from the learning process.

Women Gateway is designed to be a women's best friend. It is the one stop for business women on the net serving the Arab world in many capacities including unique information, women directories, trade and business support. The portal objective is to aid women in extending their activities locally and globally through the provision of valuable information and reliable services to help them expand their vision.
Women Gateway has evolved from being a portal initially aimed at business women of Bahrain, to one that provided a more horizontal vision of attracting women from all walks of life in order to encourage women’ empowerment.

Jury Evaluation

It is a trilingual website which primarily serves women in Bahrain and the region. The site has been upgraded to a new appealing design that is set to offer news related to women inside and outside Bahrain.
It offers many interesting sections that aim to aid woman such as successful women portraits, politics, economy, education and health.  It provides a Business Directory and an e-library that offers reviews for various books and links to the best online books websites.

Darfur kids: lost & found web site provides services for many sectors including government in order to collaborate and reunite missing children with their families. The government police service and other organizations who have a responsibility to safeguard children must embrace all that today's technology can offer in helping for finding them and look after their welfare. This website can be beneficial tool for use by officers investigating the disappearances of missing children, which will supplement the other forms of media already used by police, for example appeal posters, television and newspapers. Also, the site assists in the rapid production of posters for public display. The web was set up to do this for Darfur missing children but it actually it can be used worldwide by police services.

The Doha Debates are a unique project for free speech in the Arab world, where current political and social issues in the region and the Islamic world are debated freely in front of a local audience in Qatar and on global television.
The Doha Debates website provides visitors access to all information related to the past five series of Debates – they can watch them, download podcasts, read about the speakers/ panelists, special events, full transcripts of each event, and opinion polls commissioned by the Doha Debates.
The website is a full and comprehensive resource of Qatar’s world famous free speech project.
