Description of the product/ project
The online portal of Arab Open University-Bahrain (AOU-bh) is established based on the university’s mission which aims to launch itself as a leading institution of open learning & as a center of Excellence in E-Learning by offering opportunities for independent study & creating an environment of life long learning. This portal is based on a Share Point technology which creates an online environment among the community of AOU-bh. This technology improves communication between the departments internally & externally, as well as, communication with the online community over the web.
Jury Evaluation
It is a well constructed e-learning model web site designed specially for the students affiliated with the university to enable them to communicate directly or indirectly with the educational, administrational and organizational structure of the university. The site helps students to view, download, access to the courses materials, perform the duties and the announcement of the activities and events hold on campus. The tools offered and the built in forum make the site of much useful and beneficial to students. It's friendly and nice looking design together with the easy navigation got the jury agreement to be one of those distinguished works that indeed joined the requirement of the management and the student's conformability. Finally the interaction provided to both students and instructors illustrated the concept of e-learning very clearly and for that it get the recognition of the jury as a winner in this promising category.

Description of the product/ project
The application consists of a brief description and the learning objectives of each multimedia enrichment. Besides, it consists of links which direct the users to the specific multimedia enrichment they want to view. It provides each student the opportunity to learn in his/her own pace with consideration to the individual differences in the learning abilities. This also allows teachers to interact, monitor and evaluate the students individually. Furthermore it develops students' personalities and enables them to be producers of knowledge instead of receivers of information. This results in the production of creating productive, adaptable individuals in an information society based on Knowledge based Economy. Also the multimedia enrichment enables the transformation of the school book to a flexible e-Book where all still images are transformed to animated pictures with the explanation of the e-Content.
Jury Evaluation
It is a governmental project adopted by the Ministry of Education and it is targeted to be a turning point in the history of education in the country and would move Bahrain towards the e-learning era from it's wide angle. This project enables educators in recording selected courses and sending them to all schools. It also allows a larger number of students in the Kingdom to benefit from the transmitted studies. The module participated in the award was attractive, easy to navigate and show useful samples of the first elementary stage in all subjects. Overall it is a professional project work with a very clear objectives and achieved targets.

Jury Evaluation
It is a personal web site created and managed entirely by a Bahraini teacher Anwar Hassan Ali, which goes beyond providing direct educational information to offering consultation in sensitive and most debating issues. Its simplicity and friendly navigation give it an unlimited popularity among the targeted groups, students in general, teenagers in particular. Other than news, activities and links that give the navigators services that they may not find it under one ceiling, the huge multimedia files really offer a storage media for those who would like to benefit for their work or study. In general the site is simple, comprehensive, easy to get information and useful in all aspects.
