Final call for entries to the 2009 Bahrain eContent Awards
Entries for this year distinguished by creativity and diversity of content
Manama, Bahrain, 24 December, 2008: The organizing committee of the 2009 Bahrain eContent Awards encourages all government entities, private sector companies, and individuals who fulfill the requirements of the award to submit their entries as soon as possible as the window for acceptance of entries will close officially on 31st of December, 2008. Those wishing to participate can do so by filling out the registration forms available on the award’s official website (www.bea.bh). In addition, a release form must be signed and sent to fax number 17277070.
All online entries, whether online or offline, must be sent on CD with 15 screenshots, with offline entries also accompanied with 5 copies of the project and detailed saving instructions.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee Mr. Ahmed Al-Hujeiry, said the number of entries received thus far has reached 319 entries. The entries received are distributed among the award’s ten categories: e-Government, e-Entertainment, e-Health, e-Business, e-Banking, e-Culture, e-Media, e-Learning, e-Science, and e-Inclusion.
In addition, Mr. Isa Abdul Rahman, Director of Marketing and Awareness eGovernment Authority and Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee, pointed to the richness and diversity of content of this year’s entries thus far, including those belonging to previous participants. The Bahrain eContent have been created to encourage fresh talent and lay the foundations of an advanced and modern electronic information industry in the Kingdom. The awards scheduled to be held early next year, will honour and promote the very best of the Kingdom’s e-content. The winning entries will be nominated for the World Summit Award, which is held once every two years in cooperation with the United Nations. Next year’s awards will be held at Mexico during May.
