While keeping a close relationship with the Academia, he joined the PCA in 1996. As the Secretary General (March 2003) he acts on community initiatives aiming to bridge the Digital Divide. He also chairs the Organizing Committee of the Golden Chip Awards since its creation in 1999. This competition seeks to discover and support young talents and promote their work in the business community. Mr. Jak Boumans Mr. Jak Boumans, Senior Consultant, Electronic Media Reporting (EMR) Netherlands Jak Boumans (1945) BA, MDiv. is principal consultant with Electronic Media Re-porting, a consultancy that specializes in content strategy. From 1997 to 2000 he was a senior consultant with the TNO Centre for Technology and Policy Studies and responsible for the sector electronic publishing. He has been active in publishing since 1970 and started to specialize in electronic publishing in 1980. He brought the first European daily newsletter online for the computer industry on behalf of VNU BPL in London in 1984. He is author of the first Dutch language online manual, Online Handbook and a manual on CD-ROM production; he also developed a multimedia publishing course. Most recently, he was a part of the team researching the Dutch multimedia industry. Presently he is involved in research on publishing for mobility and electronic books. He has been a jury member for the EuroPrix (1998, 1999, 2000), the Dutch Z Awards (2000) and the EPPY Awards (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001). He is secretary of the European Academy of Digital Media (2001). Dr. Elizabeth Quat Dr. Elizabeth Quat, President & Co-founder, Internet Professionals Association, Hong Kong, China Dr. Quat is the Vice President of Corporate Development of SC Fulfil Limited, which specializes in IT Logistics. Dr. Quat holds BBA, MBA and Ph.D. degree in Management and possesses 15 years extensive experience in Asia market entry, new business & product development and M & A. Dr. Quat is an active member of many HKSAR Government Advisory Committees and community servicing organizations such as the Logistics Development Council and the Research Grants Council. Dr. Quat was elected as one of the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” and “Ten Outstanding Young Digi Persons” for the year 2001. Dr. Fawzi Al Balooshi Dr. Fawzi Al Balooshi, Computer Science Department, College of IT, University of Bahrain Dr Fawzi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bahrain since 1996. Completed his graduate studies at the University of Wales were he was awarded his Ph. D. degree in the field of Software Engineering. Joined the department of Computer Science as one of its faculty members and was appointed as the Director of the College's evening programme for four years. Actively involved in community service activities and has research interest in Computer Aided Software Engineering and Educational Technology. Dr. Aysha. S. Al-Mubarak Dr. Aysha. S. Al-Mubarak , King Hamad's Schools of the Future Project, Bahrain Dr. Al-Mubarak holds Ph.D. degree in Information System Management. Dr. Aysha was a director of the Women and Children Information Centre and a co-founder of Women and Information Technology Group (Bahrain Information Technology Society). Currently Dr Aysha works on King Hamad’s Schools of the Future Project (e-learning). Dr Aysha specializes in web usability, user center design, Interface design, human computer interaction, accessibility in web design, web testing, web content usability, usability of e-learning systems and developing web-based information systems. Ms. Hind Al Mualla Ms. Hind Almualla, IT Instructor, The Higher Colleges of Technology. UAE Hind Almualla has a Masters of Science in Multimedia Computing for eCommerce, PGC in Educational Studies, a Diploma in Web Engineering, and BSc. In Computer Science. Hind has spent a number of years teaching, studying, and researching Web related issues. Covering but not limited to: Web Usability, HCI, and the effectiveness of Computer-based learning. She has been chosen as the UAE national expert for the WSA 2005. Mr. Ahmed Khalid Mr. Ahmed Khalid, IT Manager, Bahrain Financial Harbour, Bahrain During his bachelor degree in Information Technology, he was engaged in several Information Systems design and evaluation projects. He also managed several web-based projects. After his graduation, he managed and maintained number of Intranet implementations. He was responsible of deploying, maintaining and evaluating effective web presence and other eContents. Besides his eContect experience, Ahmed is also experienced with Information Technology infrastructure and systems that enable businesses to gain competitive advantage by being efficient and innovative. He also managed Information security and quality of IT infrastructure and systems. Mr. Kamal Masri Mr. Kamal Masri, Director Business Consulting, BDO Jawad Habib, Bahrain Kamal Masri is the Director in charge of the Business Consulting practice of BDO Jawad Habib. Prior to joining BDO Jawad Habib, Kamal worked at Accenture/Andersen, Middle East and Arthur Anderson and Perot Systems, USA. Kamal also directed and managed all operating activities, including IT, customer service, management and technical services of a leading financial services organisation in Bahrain prior to joining BDO Jawad Habib. During his career, Kamal has gained vast expertise in transforming companies from business strategy and organisation to process and technology and has contributed to client transformation programmes in various industries; construction/contracting, government, postal services, utilities, telecommunications, healthcare, trading, distribution and manufacturing. Sulaibeekh is an instructor at Department of Management Information Systems, College of Information Technology, University of Bahrain. Mrs. Sulaibeekh holds BSc in Computer Science, PgD in Administrative Business and MSc in Multimedia Information Systems and possessed more than 7 years experience in Information Technology Center at University of Bahrain as Training and Technical Support Specialist, which specialized in Web pages and Training Academic and Administrative Staff. Mrs. Sulaibeekh is a founder of Bahrain Internet Society. Also a member at Bahrain Information Technology Society. Ms.Khawla AL-Ghatam Ms.Khawla AL-Ghatam, Programmer, Bahrain Monetary Agency, Bahrain. Khawla has completed her BSc. in Computing (1999) and MSc. in e-Business (2004), she has been working in BMA since 2000. Khawla was one early joiners of the Internet club in Bahrain and the Bahrain Internet society. She used to handle, as a webmaster, the online presence of the Internet Club in 2001. Ms.Manal Ajlan Ms.Manal Ajlan, Network Engineer at Ministry of Education, Bahrain She holds Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering and BSC degree in Computer Science. Specialized in IT Logistics.5 years of experience in solving computer problem (hardware/software) and networking, she was a member of Bahrain Society of Engineers. She was involved in multiple projects related to e-learning. Mr. Tariq Hayat Mr. Tariq Hayat, Corporate Communications, Arcapita Bank B.S.C.(c), Kingdom of Bahrain Mr. Hayat is a Corporate Communications Specialist with First Islamic a well known Investment Bank, Also worked with Investors Bank as an IT officer, and prior to that, at the General Organization for Youth and Sports as a supervisor of the Public Relations department in the President’s office, in addition to that worked with Legend Advertising Co. as Productivity Planning and Quality Manager. Mr. Hayat has over 8 years of experience in public relations, advertising, production design, digital design, and web development design. Holder of B.Sc in Computer Science and information technology from university of Bahrain. Mr. Ebrahim A. ALNawada Mr. Ebrahim A. ALNawada, Head of Technical Support Section, Health Information Directorate -Ministry of Health. Bahrain Mr. Al-Nawakda has 15 years experience in the Information Technology field. During the last 8 years, Mr. Al-Nawakda has been involved in many IT modernization projects in the Ministry of Health such as Network Infrastructure projects, Y2K project and currently he is the Deputy Project Director for the "Health IT Re-Development Project". The latter, focuses on the implementation of the IT health Strategy for the Kingdom through a major revamping of the current practice in providing Health care service in the Kingdom. This includes, introduction of the Health Network (HealthNet) Health Portal and more important, Healthcare applications to facilitate the execution of single Electronic Patient Record. Mr. Anas Ebrahim Al-Shaikh Mr. Anas Ebrahim Al-Shaikh Artist and Graphic designer, Bahrain Anas has a Diploma in Architectural Drawing (1989) from Jordan. A member of Bahrain Contemporary Art Association and The World Art & Culture Exchange Association. He is the Curator of 1st and 2nd Group Exhibition for Installation Art 2003–2004. He held his first solo exhibition(Memory of Memories) in 2001. He has been a member of several selection and arbitration panels from 1990 to 2004. Anas organised two workshops i.e Contemporary Angles- Qatar Art Society (2004) and Visuals Aesthetics- Bahraini Youth Assemblage Society(2003). He has participated in joint painting with two Italian Artists at the Cultural Complex in Abu Dhabi(1993). His artistic experiments combine painting, performance and music. Anas has designed several stage setting for theatrical plays.He has also designed stamps, prints and logos for several events & festivals contributed a number of articles of plastic arts & Artist in Al Ayam Newspaper. His list of prizes & certificates range from 1982 – 2003 ( Bahrain – UAE – Qatar – Saudi Arabia – Egypt). He has gained acquisition from Bahrain, U.A.E, Qatar, Morocco, Uzpekistan, Spain.
