| As founder and CEO of Digital
Media Solutions Companies and Manager of eBusiness
Solutions activities for the past 20 years, he
was involved in multiple projects related to eBusiness
infrastructure, multimedia, advanced collaboration,
video production,post-production and news-room
automation systems. While keeping a close relationship
with the Academia, he joined the PCA in 1996.
As the Secretary General (March 2003) he acts
on community initiatives aiming to bridge the
Digital Divide. He also chairs the Organizing
Committee of the Golden Chip Awards since its
creation in 1999. This competition seeks to discover
and support young talents and promote their work
in the business community.

| Jak Boumans (1945) BA, MDiv.
is principal consultant with Electronic Media
Re-porting, a consultancy that specializes in
content strategy. From 1997 to 2000 he was a senior
consultant with the TNO Centre for Technology
and Policy Studies and responsible for the sector
electronic publishing.
He has been active in publishing since 1970 and
started to specialize in electronic publishing
in 1980. He brought the first European daily newsletter
online for the computer industry on behalf of
VNU BPL in London in 1984.
He is author of the first Dutch language online
manual, Online Handbook and a manual on CD-ROM
production; he also developed a multimedia publishing
course. Most recently, he was a part of the team
researching the Dutch multimedia industry. Presently
he is involved in research on publishing for mobility
and electronic books.
He has been a jury member for the EuroPrix (1998,
1999, 2000), the Dutch Z Awards (2000) and the
EPPY Awards (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001).
He is secretary of the European Academy of Digital
Media (2001).

| Dr Fawzi is an Assistant Professor
at the Department of Computer Science at the University
of Bahrain since 1996. Completed his graduate
studies at the University of Wales were he was
awarded his Ph. D. degree in the field of Software
Engineering. Joined the department of Computer
Science as one of its faculty members and was
appointed as the Director of the College's evening
programme for four years. Actively involved in
community service activities and has research
interest in Computer Aided Software Engineering
and Educational Technology.

Society). Currently Dr Aysha works on King Hamad’s
Schools of the Future Project (e-learning). Dr
Aysha specializes in web usability, user center
design, Interface design, human computer interaction,
accessibility in web design, web testing, web
content usability, usability of e-learning systems
and developing web-based information systems.

| Hind Almualla has a Masters of

not limited to: Web Usability, HCI, and the effectiveness

as the UAE national expert for the WSA 2005.

Kamal Masri is the Director in charge of the

Prior to joining BDO Jawad Habib, Kamal worked

Anderson and Perot Systems, USA. Kamal also directed
and managed all operating activities, including
IT, customer service, management and technical

Mr. Al-Nawakda has 15 years experience in the
Information Technology field. During the last
8 years, Mr. Al-Nawakda has been involved in many
IT modernization projects in the Ministry of Health
such as Network Infrastructure projects, Y2K project
and currently he is the Deputy Project Director
for the "Health IT Re-Development Project".
The latter, focuses on the implementation of the
IT health Strategy for the Kingdom through a major
revamping of the current practice in providing
Health care service in the Kingdom. This includes,
introduction of the Health Network (HealthNet)
Health Portal and more important, Healthcare applications
to facilitate the execution of single Electronic
Patient Record.

Anas has a Diploma in Architectural Drawing (1989)
from Jordan. A member of Bahrain Contemporary
Art Association and The World Art & Culture
Exchange Association. He is the Curator of 1st
and 2nd Group Exhibition for Installation Art
2003–2004. He held his first solo exhibition(Memory
of Memories) in 2001.
He has been a member of several selection and
arbitration panels from 1990 to 2004. Anas organised
two workshops i.e Contemporary Angles- Qatar Art
Society (2004) and Visuals Aesthetics- Bahraini
Youth Assemblage Society(2003). He has participated
in joint painting with two Italian Artists at
the Cultural Complex in Abu Dhabi(1993). His artistic
experiments combine painting, performance and
music. Anas has designed several stage setting
for theatrical plays.He has also designed stamps,
prints and logos for several events & festivals
contributed a number of articles of plastic arts
& Artist in Al Ayam Newspaper. His list of
prizes & certificates range from 1982 –
2003 ( Bahrain – UAE – Qatar –
Saudi Arabia – Egypt). He has gained acquisition
from Bahrain, U.A.E, Qatar, Morocco, Uzpekistan,
Spain. |
